Bountiful 54th Ward Emergency Preparation Evening

Bountiful 54th Ward
Emergency Preparation Evening
APRIL 20, 2017   6:00PM

The evening of April 20th we would ask that you place a colored card/paper on the front door or front window of your house no later than 6:00PM. The colors that are used are either RED, YELLOW or GREEN. These are the meanings:

RED: "We need emergency help"
YELLOW: "We are ok but there is a problem but not an emergency"
GREEN: "We are ok and do not need help of any kind"

Neighborhood district leaders will be coming by to record the houses sometime between 6-7:00PM that night. This will help in the case of a real emergency. If you have any questions please call Barry McCann (801) 580-2000.

14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

Have you ever heard someone talk to you about survival shelters? You might have just brushed them off and said to yourself, why not just put up a tent, right? Wrong. Check out why in this post!

Building Survival Shelters To Live Through Adversity

If you find yourself in the most unlikely circumstance where building a survival shelter matters the most, and you only have minimal equipment with you, what would do? I hope I caught your attention because I’m about to show you different survival shelters you can build for any situation. Remember, you have to learn how to choose a strategic location before setting up any form of survival shelter. A location that is:
  • A few yards away from a body of water (if there is any)
  • Free from possible hazards like insects, predators, landslides, etc.
  • With high elevation
  • With more than a handful of materials
But if circumstances would not permit then digging right in where you stand will do. So, let’ start shall we?
 1. A Tarp Shelter
A Tarp Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

If you have a tarp or a poncho with you, you can set up a tarp shelter in just two minutes. First, anchor down the back side of the tarp facing the wind to ensure your tent won’t be blown away. Second, set up a stick on the other end which will act as an entrance, then tie the tip of the stick with a string or rope with the other end anchored down at a 45-degree angle. This is also a fairly easy shelter to break down if you’re always on the move. Or you could just tie a rope in between two trees and place your tarp over it anchoring all sides on the ground.
 2. A Debris Shelter
A Debris Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

The word “debris” itself explains the material you need. Find a ridge pole and elevate one end with two sturdy forked branches or a small pole forming an elongated triangular form. Place branches on either side of the pole down to the ground from end to end. When done, cover the ribs with debris to keep yourself insulated when inside. Cover it again with more branches if you want to.

3. Spider Shelter

This shelter is similar to a debris shelter but has an extra dome-like structure at the front. It gives you extra room for you to sit up, cook, or more space for your gear. It is also the type of survival shelter for medium to long term use because you can actually upgrade it depending on the situation.

4. A Wickiup ShelterA Wickiup Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

This is close to a teepee-kind of shelter if you look at it. You initially start with a tripod to build your base then continue on with more poles as you deem best. The gaps will be filled with debris, such as leaves and small twigs, starting from the bottom working your way up. This is great in keeping you warm, and you can actually light a fire inside it if you want to.

5. Jungle Shelter

Choose a space amid two trees and tie a pole or a long branch in between them at a certain height. This will act as a support for the branches. Tie the pole down to the ground at a 45-degree angle. Place more branches across the frame and cover it with leaves. A paracord would certainly be useful in situations like this. Unless you carry a rope with you at all times.

6. A Desert Shelter

Ideally, a shelter below the ground will help decrease the heat from midday sun around thirty to forty degrees Fahrenheit. You can use a tarp, a poncho or any material to cover the whole length of your body. Choose a depression in the sand or you can dig one, and then anchor the sides with rocks or sand weight. Make sure to leave one side free so you can crawl in. It’s simple yet very effective.
 7. Dugout Survival Shelter
Dugout Survival Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

This one requires tons of work but this is needed if you need a mid to long term shelter. A sandy type of soil will be ideal for digging a ditch and this will be your basis for the area of your dug-out shelter. Avoid dry wash basins. Dig about 2 to 3 feet down and line it up with grass for your mattress. Line the top with branches and place vegetation, which will serve as a roof. Leave enough room for you to get in or out.

8. Using A Juniper Tree For Survival Shelter

This shelter requires very minimal work because of the way the tree is formed. Build the door of the shelter at the backside where the wind is blowing. Pile long branches to form the framework “wickiup” style using the trunk of the juniper tree as your base. The rest of the tree and its leaves will act as cover for strong winds and moisture. Cover it with vegetation and you can actually build a fire right in front of the doorway and you can keep yourself warmer.

9. A Tree Top Hammock In The Rainforest

Sleeping on the rainforest floor at night can be very dangerous as there will be nocturnal predators out for the hunt. Choose a spot high up in between the closest trees or one sturdy one with big branches and tie both ends of the hammock on each branch or tree. A strong tarp, blanket, and even a tent can be used. Tie your waist with a rope secured to a branch a bit higher of your hammock in case you roll off.

10. A Bamboo House In The Wild

If you can cut down pieces of bamboo you can actually make any kind of shelter you want depending on its abundance. You will need ropes or from a paracord grenade, or any paracord project for that matter, and tie each bamboo stick together. You can also bury the basic foundation into the ground and work your way around it by laying more bamboo around and on top.

11. Using Tree Branches For Shelter

Make an A-frame with the branches and this will be your main structure of the shelter. Place a long pole at the top of the frame setting the other end on the ground. If you can find a slope for the other end of the pole, this would give you more room. Line up both sides with branches full of leaves to keep the cold out.
 12. Using Leaves In The Forest For Shelter
Using Leaves In The Forest For Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

During fall tons of leaves are just lying everywhere. This shelter is close to the debris shelter but uses leaves instead of tree foliage. Using the basic A-frame structure is the simplest manner there is. Pace more branches to hold up the leaves then when you’re done, place as many leaves as you can for more insulation. Keep the entrance free, though.

13. A Snow Shelter

A Snow Shelter | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

Choose an area with a short slope and has snowdrift of about 1.5 meters deep where the wind is not blowing against it. Using a compact snow shovel, dig a trench five feet deep just enough for you to stand then continue digging a tunnel at the base of the trench. Ensure the ceiling is about a foot thick. This can be done by sticking a stick or ski pole on top about 46cm in. This will act as your guide when digging from the inside. Once you see the tip, stop scraping the ceiling off.

14. Igloo

Igloo | 14 Survival Shelters You Can Build For Any Situation

You can build an igloo shelter in 30 minutes by using hard, compact, and dry snow. With the help of a saw or a long knife, you can cut the snow blocks into the right sizes and weight which will serve as the walls of the igloo. In a blizzard, this can mean a matter of life and death.

Always Prepared: 5 Items You Absolutely Must Have in Your 72-Hour Kit

Disaster preparedness has become much more mainstream in recent years, with hundreds of thousands of people getting interested in what items they should have to provide for themselves and their families in the event of an emergency. If you are getting started in disaster preparedness, the first thing you should be putting together is a 72-hour kit, sometimes also called a bug out bag. This is a light, portable pack that can easily be carried with you and which will give you the supplies you need to survive for at least three days. Here are five of the top items that should be in everyone’s 72-hour bag.

Personal Water Purifier

Getting fresh water is one of the most difficult parts of dealing with a disaster situation. The amount of bottled water you would need to survive for 72 hours would weigh you down and severely inhibit your mobility. A better option is a personal water purifier. These filter-based devices are small, straw-like systems that will remove dirt, debris and even bacteria from water. Be aware that some toxins, such as heavy metals, and viruses will not be caught by these filters, so it is still important to choose your water source carefully.

LED Flashlight

If you’re on the move in a disaster situation, it may be necessary for you to remain mobile at night. If this is the case, a good LED flashlight is absolutely essential. LEDs are both brighter and more energy efficient than normal bulbs, making them a more reliable option in a real emergency. Even though they are energy efficient, it’s also a good idea to keep at least one set of spare batteries for your flashlight in your pack.

High-Calorie Food

In a disaster scenario, you may have to move several miles a day or otherwise exert yourself physically, meaning you will need calories to fuel your activity. There are survival food bars that are specifically intended to serve this purpose, but other options are also available. High-protein snack bars make a decent alternative, as do canned tuna, peanut butter and instant pastas that can be prepared using only boiling water. Remember, in a life-or-death situation, the more calories that are in a given food, the better it is. You can also bring along a small pack of multivitamins to round out your nutritional needs.

A Good Jacket

You never know in advance what the weather may be like when you need to use your 72-hour kit, which is why it’s important to put a good jacket in your pack. Because it may be bitterly cold, it’s best to have a heated jacket that can keep you warmer than your body heat alone can. As with your flashlight, be sure to bring along a spare battery for your heated jacket, as it could mean the difference between life and death in extreme temperature conditions.

First-Aid Kit

In an emergency situation, the possibility of injury is always a risk. One of the key components of your 72-hour kit should be a basic first-aid kit that will allow you to clean and treat any injuries that may come up. This kit should also have common over-the-counter medicines in it to relieve symptoms of illness.
A disaster scenario is never something to look forward to, but with a little basic planning you can get through one without too much difficulty. Put your 72-hour kit together well in advance, and you will have everything you need to deal with an emergency. If you have a family, also be sure to put together a similar kit for each family member, as carrying all of the necessary supplies for everyone will be too much for any one person.

3 Things To Do: Protecting Your Online Communications

I tend to hide in the background of the American Preppers Network. I’m the web-master, the guy that makes the guts of the place work. It’s a thankless job, but somebody has to do it. Well, actually it’s not thankless, both Tom and Gman at Prepper Broadcast have thanked me for countless little and big things that have happened over the years. What most people may not know is how I got the job in the first place. You see, I sorta hacked one of Tom’s sites….
I actually don’t remember how long ago this was, it’s been literally years. It was way back in the beginning when River Walker first coined the term “Preppers” before anyone else, yes even Doomsday Preppers didn’t exists back then. Tom was trying to create a nation wide network of like minded people who wanted to connect and share information on preparedness. He set about setting up each and every state blog and worked hard at getting people involved. I was busy doing my own thing, hosting sites, and working on side projects for mostly my own amusement when I noticed that one of his sites had an error.

Getting a hold Tom back then was like trying to pull teeth from a bull in heat.

After several emails with no reply, I just fixed it myself. Being the honest guy I am, I sent him a final email on the subject telling him what I had done. That last email actually got a response from him, he asked “You want a job?”
Hacking for the most part is rather easy. Most people are unaware that all your on-line communications are out there for the whole world to see. Finding out how to access your personal bank account, your browser history, and guessing your passwords can be done with just a few keystrokes. Tracing you to your door is even easier. This so called set of “private” information is very public.
And now the Nanny.gov wants help to spy on you, from your own ISP.1 2 3
Yes, in the Republican controlled Congress, rules made by the FCC to protect consumers’ right to privacy were over tuned4. Well so much for Trump being the hero of the common man in the White House. What this means to you is basically this. Before you didn’t have any real privacy on-line from hackers, trolls, and various scum on the net. Now, you can add your own Internet Service Provider and any branch of the government to the list.

There are three things you need to do now.

  • You need to use the privacy features of your browser.
When you use incognito mode, Chrome doesn’t record any history or cookies, and it disables browser extensions. This means that third party services like Facebook, Google, etc that use cookies to track your movement across the internet to serve you better ads won’t follow you to the incognito tab.” guidingtech.com 5
Most browsers that are available, even if you use alternative operating systems other then windows, leak. They leak your history, tracking cookies, saved login settings to your bank and social networks. And that’s not to mention other information about you that goes out on the net from your ISP, or the data that is literally mined from advertiser software and places you go to. The privacy tab option helps prevent most of those leaks, but not all.
The most important thing to remember about the privacy tab is that it mostly helps with preventing unwanted snoops from checking out what you are doing with your browser who have physical access to that browser, your house guest for example. Some private modes are better then others. It all depends on how much effort is put into making it secure by the developer and how much you trust those developers. Firefox’s private mode automatically blocking web trackers, where as Chrome’s doesn’t 6, But that being said, Firefox has been known to still record the SSL certificates from sites7.
Private browsing prevents people from snooping on your web browsing after it’s occurred, but they can still snoop while it’s occurring … ” – howtogeek.com 8
  • You need to be able to turn off Java.
Java is a favorite target of cybercriminals because it is so easy to exploit, and also because users are frequently using outdated versions of it.” – tomsguide.com9
The easiest way to do this is to install an extension that allows you to toggle Java. on and off at will. Sometimes you still need to use Java due to login options on sites your active in, or simply because you trust the site in question. If you want to remain anonymous, to hide your IP, and prevent maleware, you are going to need to turn it off, and know if it is off.
Fortunately, Java is heading the way of the dinosaur10, sites are now using HTML5 which simply doesn’t need it anymore. The number one issue with Java that I have is that it does not self update, if there is a future security risk involving Java your system will not automatically update. A lot of things use Java, not just the personal computer or laptop, this is the main source of DDOS attacks on the internet.
  • You need to anonymize your connection to the internet.
Tor aims to conceal its users’ identities and their online activity from surveillance and traffic analysis by separating identification and routing. It is an implementation of onion routing, which encrypts and then randomly bounces communications through a network of relays run by volunteers around the globe.” – wikipedia 11
This is where it gets hard. Even if you set up a VPN on your laptop, the browser on your other devices is not configured. And not only that, how can you be sure to trust your VPN? You need something between you and the router that you connect too. Not everyone is a tech geek like me, a simple solution is needed for the average Joe to protect himself from big brother, and the nosy neighborhood. You need to either use a simple solution, or jump on a huge learning curve about proxies, virtual private networking, and the peer-to-peer system, to name a few.
I found such a device. It’s called Anonabox. The original Anonabox is perfect for using as a simple way to securely connect to the internet in a way that I don’t have to worry about being traced back to my ISP. It uses the TOR Onion networking system which is constantly evolving to to be better. This isn’t the total geek version AnonaboxPro, which I also got for myself, it’s the one I use so I don’t have to worry about the other devices, and the kids.
It’s real simple to use. It’s pre-configured, locked up, and plug in-play. You just plug it into your router, power it up and connect to it via WIFI. That simple.
There are a lot of reasons to use TOR. But it is not user friendly. Even the most basic set up12 can be a real headache for the average user, even experts have fallen prey to the FBI because of simple mistakes13. Having a simple always on, hardware connected to the TOR network like Anonabox reduces the risks of stupid mistakes. You do still have limitations, you can’t use Skype over TOR, and most people will fine it hard to stream movies over TOR unless they use a Kodi with a high cache amount.
Some geeks might suggest to just use the TOR Browser bundle, but that isn’t always the best option, Freedom Hosting was taken out by the FBI due to the bundle having vulnerabilities14. Using a standalone plug in-play helps avoid problems from others on your network.
The Anonabox Original is a small light weight device that works right our of the box. I have very fast internet, my main worry for using the Anonabox was whether it would slow the net down to the point where I couldn’t use it with Kodi. But it turned out that it worked fairly well, not as good as a direct VPN connection, but still good enough to use CCLOUD VOD on Kodi, which is what I am currently using to watch classic movies. Using a TOR Browser to watch streaming movies from other sources just doesn’t work unless you can cache the whole film, or via a torrent.
I also got an AnonaboxPro, which I plan to use with the darkspider project. For a more technical article on it visit my blog.

The Worst Retail Cataclysm Ever: Sears Warns It Is On The Verge Of Collapse As Payless Prepares To File For Bankruptcy

Alarm Clock Abstract - Public DomainMore than 3,500 retail stores are going to close all across America over the next few months as the worst retail downturn in U.S. history gets even deeper.  Earlier this week, Sears shocked the world when it announced that there is “substantial doubt” that the company will be able to “continue as a going concern” much longer.  In other words, Sears has announced that it is on the verge of imminent collapse.  Meanwhile, Payless stunned the retail industry when it came out that they are preparing to file for bankruptcy.  The “retail apocalypse” that I have been warning about is greatly accelerating, and many believe that this is one of the early warning signs that the economic collapse that is already going on in other parts of the globe will soon reach U.S. shores.
I have repeatedly warned my readers that “Sears is going to zero“, and now Sears is officially saying that it might actually happen.  When you file official paperwork with the government that says there is “substantial doubt” that the company will survive, that means that the end is very near

The company that operates Sears, the department store chain that dominated retail for decades, warned Tuesday that it faces “substantial doubt” about its ability to stay in business unless it can borrow more and tap cash from more of its assets.

“Our historical operating results indicate substantial doubt exists related to the company’s ability to continue as a going concern,” Sears Holdings said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Sears Holdings operates both Sears and Kmart stores.

In the wake of that statement, the price of Sears stock dipped 13.69% to $7.85 a share.
Personally, I am going to miss Sears very much.  But of course the truth is that they simply cannot continue operating as they have been.
For the quarter that ended on January 28th, Sears lost an astounding 607 million dollars

The company said it lost $607 million, or $5.67 per diluted share, during the quarter that ended on Jan. 28. That compared with a loss of $580 million, or $5.44 per diluted share, a year earlier. It has posted a loss in all but two of the last 24 quarters, according to S&P Global Market Intelligence.
How in the world is it possible for a retailer to lose that amount of money in just three months?
As I have said before, if they had employees flushing dollar bills down the toilet 24 hours a day they still shouldn’t have losses that big.
This week we also learned that Payless is heading for bankruptcy.  According to Bloomberg, the chain is planning to imminently close at least 400 stores…

Payless Inc., the struggling discount shoe chain, is preparing to file for bankruptcy as soon as next week, according to people familiar with the matter.

The company is initially planning to close 400 to 500 stores as it reorganizes operations, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the deliberations aren’t public. Payless had originally looked to shutter as many as 1,000 locations, and the number may still be in flux, according to one of the people.
Of course these are just two examples of a much broader phenomenon.
Never before in U.S. history have we seen such a dramatic wave of store closures.  According to Business Insider, over 3,500 retail locations “are expected to close in the next couple of months”…

Thousands of mall-based stores are shutting down in what’s fast becoming one of the biggest waves of retail closures in decades.

More than 3,500 stores are expected to close in the next couple of months.
Once thriving shopping malls are rapidly being transformed into ghost towns.  As I wrote about just recently, “you might be tempted to think that ‘Space Available’ was the hottest new retail chain in the entire country.”
The demise of Sears is going to be an absolute nightmare for many mall owners.  Once “anchor stores” start closing, it is usually only a matter of time before smaller stores start bailing out

When an anchor store like Sears or Macy’s closes, it often triggers a downward spiral in performance for shopping malls.

Not only do the malls lose the income and shopper traffic from that store’s business, but the closure often triggers “co-tenancy clauses” that allow the other mall tenants to terminate their leases or renegotiate the terms, typically with a period of lower rents, until another retailer moves into the anchor space.
Years ago I wrote of a time when we would see boarded-up storefronts all across America, and now it is happening.
Instead of asking which retailers are going to close, perhaps we should be asking which ones are going to survive this retail cataclysm.
In the past, you could always count on middle class U.S. consumers to save the day, but today the middle class is steadily shrinking and U.S. consumers are increasingly tapped out.
For instance, just look at what is happening to delinquency rates on auto loans

US auto loan and lease credit loss rates weakened in the second half of 2016, according to a new report from Fitch Ratings, which said they will continue to deteriorate.

“Subprime credit losses are accelerating faster than the prime segment, and this trend is likely to continue as a result of looser underwriting standards by lenders in recent years,” said Michael Taiano, a director at Fitch.
The last time so many Americans got behind on subprime auto loans was during the last financial crisis.
We are seeing so many similarities to what happened just prior to the last recession, and yet most Americans still seem to think that the U.S. economy is going to be just fine in 2017.
Unfortunately, major red flags are popping up in the hard economic numbers and in the financial markets.
The last recession probably should have started back in late 2015, but thanks to manipulation by the Fed and an unprecedented debt binge by the Obama administration, official U.S. GDP growth has been able to stay barely above zero for the last year and a half.
But just because something is delayed does not mean that it is canceled.
All along, our long-term economic imbalances have continued to get even worse, and a date with destiny is rapidly approaching for the U.S. economy.

Treating Water: Video & Transcription

Treating Water
Boiling as a method for treating waterHey! Welcome back YouTubers!! It’s Shane with Lone Wolf Survival and I want to talk a little bit about water purification and water filtering. There’s a lot of different systems out there and there’s a lot of myths about what you can and can’t do. There’s all kinds of products on the market, everything from filters to pumps to tablets to chemicals, so I just wanna touch on a few today and go over some of the ones that we actually use in the field and some of the ones that we recommend and maybe dispel any myths that you heard about those.
So the first one I want to talk about is your best chance of filtering and making potable water and that is gonna be is to boil your water. Stainless steel, stainless steel canteen cup, in some type of open campfire sterno stove or any kind of heat source. Now there’s a lot of myths as to how long you boil water for. Some people say five minutes and some people say 10 minutes and some people say 30 minutes. You need to boil the water, your water as long as you feel comfortable drinking. I personally boil my water for a minimum of 20 minutes and let it sit and cool. That way I make sure that I got any bacteria or anything that’s in the water. It’s gone. If you wanna boil your water an hour that’s your prerogative. Whatever you feel comfortable because remember you’re going to be the one drinking the water so the easiest and most basic system is to boil your water.
Now there’s another system that you can use for boiling water. You can actually boil your water in a water bottle. You have to make sure that the bottle is full. Basically I will take the stick with a para-cord then put this right next to the fire. You can actually use that about two or three times before the integrity of the bottle starts to break down and my bottle obviously falls apart in the water goes in the fire put the fire out and we’ll talk about fire making in another episode.
Then there’s another way, that is UV treating. You actually set the bottle in the direct Sun light for a certain amount of time and the UV rays actually kill any bacteria in the water. Now I’m gonna go ahead and tell ya. I know what your thinkin, “Ok, how long?” I’m gonna leave my bottle in the Sun a whole day long. Because twenty minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, two hours I’m gonna leave it out as long as I possibly can before I put that bottle up to my lips and drink UV treated water. That’s up to you again what you’re comfortable with so that’s two ways boil my water, boil my water inside the water bottle with UV treating.
Lone wolf 3Next I wanna touch on a few filters and one filter system that we use obviously you know, I sing the praise, and that’s the life straw. This particular one is good up to 50 gallons I can drink directly from the source and it fits most water bottles. So I can screw this thing on to a water bottle I can fill a water bottle or my container. I have potable water I can carry with me or I can drink directly from the source. I’m a big fan of the Life straw.
Also, another  system that I like is a Sawyer mini and the cool thing about the Sawyer is I can drink directly from the source and also comes with a carry bag and I can screw it on the top so I can fill this up or I can drink from the sawyer bag. We also have found that this will screw on the top of a 1.5 liter Mountain Dew bottle. We learned that one the other day. So it has a of versatility with this, also comes with the clean out syringe to clean the filter out. This is a really neat system and this particular one it will treat 50,000 gallons of water. That’s more water than I’m ever gonna drink in my lifetime. As we all know I drink Mountain Dew. For the money, this is a really good system.
Now we can talk about filter bottles, charcoal bottles, There’s a lot of different ones out there. You’ll see them with the charcoal filter in the neck just like anything else, these systems have to be activated so you gonna have to run cold water through this to activate. The charcoal filters are pretty cheap so I have my container and my filter system. The replacement cartridges this one actually for ya’ll see me before with bobble bobble that I love so much. These filters, 2 pack filters 300 bottles of water is what one of these will filter.  So the thing with the  charcoal filters is it gonna take some bacteria’s or some pathogens that charcoal filters not gonna get so I’m kind of I’m kind of exposing myself to some risk.
Which is gonna take us back to how do I actually get everything out of my water and we moved to chemicals. A lot of different things out there. Coleman makes a good product this is iodine tablets and nutrient neutralizer The iodine tablets kills anything in the water the neutralizer tablets take out the taste of the iodine tablets in the water. Two-part series. (Coleman Potable Aqua Chemical Treatment)
Aqua, Aquamira makes a really good product. These are the chlorine dioxide water treatment drops, two system drops. Treats the water in about 15 minutes to get the potable water. Easy to fit your bug out bag or in your backpack. This is another good alternative solution. This is 15 bucks at your local prep store Army Navy surplus store.
Then we have in my little squeeze bottle unscented, regular household bleach. The ratio I use is 1/8 teaspoon per one gallon of water and I know for a fact that bleach is going to kill anything that could possibly be in that water. So this is another good this is another good system and Ive simply got my bleach in one of my little camp soap bottles. Squeeze bottles I keep in my backpack when we’re out doing stuff. Those working good with any kind of container system I’ve just got a military style canteen here. I can put my my water in here I can use my drops I can use my tablet so I can use my bleach and thirty minutes later got potable drinking water.
So these are just some examples of different systems on the market. Do your research and do your due diligence when you’re looking at what kind of area you in. Watch the demographic, what kind of water sources is it, is a stream, is a river lake, is at a pond, is it a mud puddle that you’ve come up on in the middle of nowhere. So you need that system to take care of that situation that you’re in. I recommend I recommend having two systems if not three in your survival pack or your bug out bag. Either a commercial-grade filter system some type of chemical treatment and then obviously means to make fire and a way to boil water. so just a little quick overlook on water treatment and just like always, be safe and see you next time.
