Upcoming Events

CERT Training-
Upcoming CERT training will be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays starting on February 8th and 9th, from 6:30 pm until 9:30 pm at the South Davis Metro Fire Station at 255 South 100 West in Bountiful.  These sessions will run for seven weeks, with a final disaster simulation and drill on March 25th.  We would encourage you to get word out to all of your areas that this training is available, and that participants will receive valuable civic and personal skills such as first aid, firefighting, evacuation, spotting terrorism and many others.  We are also interested in seeing that CERT training is offered to every home in our neighborhoods, not just LDS families.  We would like you to make a special effort to reach out to those who are not LDS.

Please Participate in Our Earthquake Drill, April 20th-
Our yearly city-wide emergency preparedness drill will coincide with the Be Ready Utah Shakeout Drill on Thursday, April 20, 2017, 6:30pm.  We would ask each district to encourage their various areas to do a complete readiness drill, including putting status cards out and having neighborhood and block captains communicate results to area leaders and on up to district leaders and the city.  Bountiful City will be staffing the Emergency Operations Center, manning emergency radios and have a prepared scenario for our districts to respond to, in order to simulate a real disaster.

Preparedness Seminar, April 25th-
We are also pleased to announce the first Emergency Preparedness Seminar for this year, on Tuesday April 25th at 7:00 pm at the South Davis Junior High School.  We will be having a seminar on preparedness focusing on “Walk Away, Drive Away or Stay At Home”, presented by Tami Girsberger, a local blogger and preparedness speaker.  Her website “Preparemylife.com” promotes preparing by creating plans to either walk away (bug out on foot), drive away (bug out in your car), or shelter in place (stay at home).
